CSULB Film and Electronic Arts

The Cal State Long Beach Film and Electronic Arts department is one of the strongest undergraduate training programs for undergraduate filmmakers in the nation.

It is regularly the top contributer to the annual CSU Media Festival, and this past year our students were, once again, frequently in the winner’s circle, with multiple first, second and third place wins.

They won in diverse categories such as: Music Video, Narrative Film, Experimental and Documentary.

In support of our Film and Electronic Arts Department, Sony sponsored a special preview of Ghost Rider—written and directed by CSULB alumnus Mark Steven Johnson held on the CSULB campus. It was part of the first annual Sony Premiere Film Festival.

My Thoughts:

I think that Cal State Long Beach students are excelling especially in the art department. I also think that it is excellent that CSULB's Film and Electronic Arts department has one of the strongest training programs in the nation. Sony was very generous to include our school in their first annual Premiere Film Festival.
