San Francisco's ballet began in 1933, it was known as the Opera Ballet, said Robert Greskovic from the Wall Street Journal. They are famous for their annual performance of "The Nutcracker". This ballet company has been around for 75 years, and they currently have 78 members on their team.
Surprised by the San Francisco Ballet's recent show, Greskovic states "The charming result, which I'd never seen live before, and which has music by Virgil Thomson and a libretto by Lincoln Kirstein, reveals a strong underpinning of athletic ballet moves, especially in the role of Mac, the guileless gas-station attendant originally portrayed by the god-like Christensen himself. Too often today, realism is likely to weigh down a ballet of similar aims, with the choreographer all but neglecting the very steps that ballet dancers practice and perfect."
The San Francisco Ballet just finished their 75Th anniversary season, they toured in Chicago, Costa Mesa, New York and Washington.
My Thoughts:
Dance is another form of art that displays different types of movement from the body. Ballet is one the most popular types of dance and is widely. The Art of ballet is creatively performed by individuals who dedicate their time to learn this artistic form.
